We are seeking a Hospice Director of Clinical Operations in the Indianapolis, IN area to support our 6 Indiana locations (Fort Wayne, Kokomo, Carmel, Richmond, Bloomington and Jeffersonville). The Hospice Director contributes to the success of Premier by overseeing state-wide clinical services, and establishing, implementing and evaluating goals and objectives for clinical services that promote standards of quality and contribute to optimal care and service for patients and families. This position reports to the Hospice Executive Director.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinating and overseeing all patient services provided by clinical personnel
  • Assisting Clinical Supervisors in managing clinical teams and evaluating the performance of clinicians
  • Providing assistance in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
  • Hiring, evaluating, and terminating organization personnel as indicated and overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of the orientation program for new personnel
  • Planning and implementing continuing education programs
  • Assisting in the development of organization goals
  • Assuring compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of personnel, and maintaining compliance to the CHAP Home Care standards
  • Maintaining current knowledge of changes in the field of nursing and hospice care, sharing information with appropriate organization personnel
  • Assisting the Executive Director in budget preparation and administration and acting as the Administrator in his/her absence

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Nurse in Indiana with current licensure
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Master’s degree preferred
  • Three years management experience in a hospice or related health care organization required
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel
  • Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community
  • Knowledge of business management, governmental regulations and CHAP standards
