As cliché as it may sound, I’ve always known that I wanted to help people in some way. I became a CAN at a local hospital and had wonderful nurses take me under their wings. This led me into the beautiful profession of nursing.
Hospice stood out to me above all other avenues of nursing. This was mostly due to the simplicity of being a part of such a precious time in a patient’s life – as well as their family’s. Throughout the past year of working for Premier Hospice, I have met some of the most amazing people and have had the privilege of being an intricate part of their lives; no matter how short or how long. My patients have taught me so much about the real values of life and family. Hospice isn’t a profession for everyone, but I am blessed to be a part of something so wonderful.
